Bin Ueda’s Profile

Bin Ueda was born in 1968 and is from Tokyo.

As a child, Bin loved to listen to Chopin records. Inspired by Chopin, he continued playing the piano.

In university, he devoted most of his time to music where he was active as a conductor for Glee Club (Chorus group) as well as organizing many concerts in school music room with his friends.

Upon graduation, his fans supported him to continue his study at Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Hungary. In Liszt Academy, he had opportunity to encounter many great musicians who were free from plausible “playing methods” or concepts that encouraged “to play musically”. It also influenced Bin’s style significantly that these greats were loyal to their senses in approaching compositions.

After his study in Hungary, he returned to Japan to start performances where he played in a diverse range of styles, from solo to chamber music. Though styles may have varied, his audience was keen to appreciate him for his free and profound expression.

In chamber music, he gained trust from costars on stage through his lively musical expression, accurate understanding of composition structures and his compassion to support his fellow costars.

He was also appointed as assistant by world-renowned pianist, Ferenc Rados, whose many students included Andras Schiff, to work for Kusatsu International Summer Music Academy & Festival.

His philosophy and relationship to music continues to be “To play what you want, when you want to play”
